What is the PAES Lab?
PAES is a hands-on assessment of employment potential that is available to high school students in Mifflin & Juniata Counties in conjunction with the TIU. The PAES lab is housed at our Yale Street facility. Participants clock in and go to work exploring nearly 300 jobs in 5 career areas to help discover job skills they are good at and what jobs skills they like to do. PAES consists of the following 5 modules.

The Practical Assessment Exploration System (PAES)
PAES work development lab allows students to become employees and teachers to become employers. The lab assesses a student's competitive work potential and interest level, while simultaneously exploring various jobs, using real tools, and developing proper work behaviors.

PAES provides training in basic generalizable vocational and life skills that relate to most careers.

PAES offers skills needed for vocational training, placement and independent living.

PAES provides exploration through hands-on experience providing real and meaningful career information and knowledge of what the student can do.

PAES provides for data collection and student reporting. It helps give an accurate description of student performance and employment potential.
