Community Integration and Employment Services Specialist (Job Coach)

Compass Community Connections is seeking an energetic, motivated part-time Employment Specialist for 20+ hours a week with potential to lead into full-time employment. Candidate will work alongside individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in exploring and achieving competitive employment opportunities. The Employment Specialist is responsible for the following:

• Facilitate community-based assessments in evaluating individual career interests and skills
• Assist individuals in reinforcing essential skills while teaching new skills appropriate to developing a resume, completing a job application and conducting a successful job interview
• Aid individuals in exploring career opportunities with local employers
• Provide the necessary assistance for the individual to be placed in competitive employment
• Offer skill instruction/assistance to individuals at their job sites to facilitate successful job retention
• Build a support network between the individuals and community employers
• Monitor, document and report individual’s work performance to team members
• Accurately complete all required documentation in a timely manner

Qualifications/Skills Required:
• High School Diploma/GED plus 4 years’ experience working in related field, OR
Associate’s Degree plus 2 years’ experience, OR Bachelor’s Degree within the field
• Knowledge of employer expectations and local job market
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Accurate documentation skills
• Computer skills proficiency
• Proven ability to work as a team player or independently
• Demonstrated compassionate, caring personality

Work Hours/Environment: Primarily weekday day hours with the possibility of some evening and weekend hours based upon the needs of program participants and employers. This is a position with time spent at various employment sites.
Program Requirement:
• Clean DMV record and proof of auto insurance
• Pass a criminal background check
• Pass Supported Employment certification process
• Complete all required trainings

Transportation Driver/Aide

A part-time Transportation Driver/Aide position is open in our Transportation Department at Compass Community Connections. Responsibilities include driving/assisting small groups of individuals with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities (IDD) during transportation to and from the Program. Working with individuals in wheel chairs and working with a wheel chair lift, (training provided). Transportation driver/aide qualifications include High school diploma/GED and a clean driving history. Hours will be early morning and mid-afternoon Monday through Friday, (approximately 2 hours in am and 2 hours in pm).
