Compass Community Connections Supported Employment
What is Supported Employment?
Supported Employment is individualized support to secure a sustainable, pad job in the local labor market for individuals with disabilities . Job coaches work with individuals to :
*Prep for employment
*Assist with onboarding and training, once hired
*Support and assist individuals throughout employment
*Assist with communication between employer and employee

With Employment Support, the Individual will develop the skills and natural supports to maintain long-term employment!

What is a Job Coach?
A Job Coach is an employment specialist who helps train the individual with a disability on the job, supplementing the employer's training responsibility. A job coach teaches work-related behaviors, such as when to take breaks and how to ask for help, and helps the person work as independently as possible.
As the individual becomes more independent, the job coach decreases their time (fades), trains the individual on new duties, intervenes with problems and checks on progress.
The goal is for the individual to use support from managers and coworkers (natural supports) at their site, in addition to periodic checks from the job coach.
If you are an employer who is interested in partnering with our organization, but are unsure if your company allows Job Coaches on site, please consider providing your Corporate Contact information to allow us to connect!
